Memory Chips

HBM, DRAM and flash that hold AI models and their working data

Heat (est.) Spend (est.)

HBM is sold out on multi-year agreements and conventional DRAM and NAND went into shortage with it — the defining supply story of 2026.

AI accelerators need fast local memory, CPUs need large working memory, and storage needs persistent NAND. This theme separates chip makers by product so that HBM leadership is not confused with NAND scale or specialty-memory exposure.

Why now

HBM4 ships for Vera Rubin while HBM4E samples prepare 2027 ramps. Conventional DRAM prices are still forecast to rise 13–18% in Q3, but consumer NAND is cooling. New fabs and packaging plants add supply over years, not in time to end 2026 server shortages.

HBM

HBM DRAM stacks sit beside GPUs. Three volume makers compete on yield and qualification; logic-base-die partners shape HBM4/4E sockets. Chinese DRAM and packaging entrants remain earlier-stage and do not imply qualified Nvidia supply.
