AmerX is the trade name of Lucid Capital Markets, LLC, a New York self-clearing broker-dealer and NYSE floor broker. Its equity research, launched in May 2026, focuses on physical-AI, lidar and autonomy stocks, with technology-services names added later.
Company history
The firm was formed in New York in June 2015, operated as Americas Executions, LLC under chief executive Fady Tanios, and has held an NYSE trading license since August 3, 2015, succeeding a predecessor member organization registered in 2006. It built floor brokerage, direct market access, algorithmic trading, self-clearing, prime brokerage and securities lending businesses. The broker-dealer distributes research through two divisions: Lucid, focused on fundamental research, and AmerX.

Research
AmerX research launched on May 5, 2026 with one senior analyst covering technology; its inaugural report initiated coverage of eight physical-AI companies in lidar, radar and autonomous software. It uses a five-tier system: Buy (total return of 35% or more over 12 months), Overweight (at least 15%), Hold (within ±14%), Underweight (−15% to −35%) and Sell (−35% or worse). It does not set price targets on Hold-rated stocks.
