Seaport Research Partners is the equity research platform of Seaport Global Securities, a privately held New York investment bank and broker-dealer. Launched in 2021, it houses senior analysts who run their own research franchises and serve a select group of institutional clients.
Company history
Seaport Global traces to The Seaport Group, co-founded in April 2001 by Michael Meagher and Stephen C. Smith and focused on distressed-debt and credit sales and trading. Its broker-dealer launched Seaport Research Partners in April 2021 with 16 analysts averaging 20 years of experience. By August 2025, when it hired strategists Jonathan Golub and Patrick Palfrey, both formerly of UBS, the platform had 27 senior analysts and strategists.
