MUFG Securities Americas Inc.
MUFG Securities Americas, formerly Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA), is the New York-based US broker-dealer of Japan's Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. It began publishing research on US equities in 2015, extending a group equity research franchise built on Japanese and Asian markets.
Company history
The firm was incorporated in New York in December 1988 and operated as BOT Securities and Tokyo-Mitsubishi Securities (USA) before taking the Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA) name. It became MUFG Securities Americas Inc. on July 1, 2016, as MUFG consolidated its US subsidiaries under MUFG Americas Holdings. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York designated it a primary dealer in January 2026.

Research
Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA) launched US equity research in late 2015 with four analysts covering oil and gas, midstream energy, REITs and technology; the group had not previously published research on US companies. As of 2026 its US research also includes a US Macro Strategy team covering macroeconomics and fixed income.
