Company history
Rodman & Renshaw was founded in 1951 and was a Chicago brokerage when Mexico's Abaco Casa de Bolsa took control in 1994; it filed for Chapter 7 liquidation in 1998. A New York-based Rodman & Renshaw listed on Nasdaq in 2007 through a reverse merger, renamed its parent Direct Markets Holdings in June 2012 and stopped broker-dealer operations that September. H.C. Wainwright used the name for a research unit from 2015; Rodman & Renshaw LLC now operates as a separate, affiliated broker-dealer.
