Develops cell therapies and catheter-based delivery tools for cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, with CardiAMP pairing patient cell selection and point-of-care processing with cardiac delivery. Revenue is presently tied to collaboration services; product sales await regulatory approval.
Develops autologous and allogeneic cell therapies for ischemic heart failure, refractory angina and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Its CardiAMP system selects and processes a patient’s bone-marrow cells at the point of care, then delivers them into the myocardium through the Helix catheter.
Also develops the Helix delivery platform, cleared Morph and AVANCE vascular-access catheters, and Heart3D imaging software. Collaboration agreements can generate fees for delivery systems, clinical-study training and support, milestones, and potential future therapeutic-revenue participation; current cell-therapy candidates are pre-commercial.
Manufacturing and operations are centered in Sunnyvale, while regulatory work focuses on the United States and Japan. Progress depends largely on CardiAMP clinical development, regulatory authorization, trial enrollment, funding and licensed cell-processing technology manufactured by Biomet Biologics.
