Processes and markets branded meat, nuts and other foods through Retail, Foodservice and International segments. The portfolio spans Planters and Corn Nuts snacks, SPAM shelf-stable meats, Skippy peanut butter, Jennie-O turkey, Applegate prepared meats, Wholly and other Mexican foods, plus Hormel bacon, pepperoni and operator-focused Fontanini products. Sales are centered in U.S. retail and food-away-from-home channels, with a smaller international business built from exports, licensing, operations and minority investments.

Competes through brand management, product development, direct customer relationships and foodservice solutions. Recent sales of the whole-bird turkey and Ceratti Brazilian businesses sharpened the focus on value-added products while retaining Jennie-O. Manufacturing depends on owned plants and co-manufacturers; key inputs include pork, turkey, beef, chicken and nuts, with exposure to commodity costs, livestock disease, food-safety rules, major retailers and outside suppliers.
