ITT (ITT)
Builds motion, flow, and connection technologies for transportation, industry, energy, aerospace, and defense.

ITT makes parts that live inside other companies' machines: brake pads, pumps, valves, mixers, and connectors and cable bundles built for rough conditions. Brakes long set the tone. Then it bought SPX FLOW, paying with cash, borrowed money and newly issued shares, and moving liquids through food plants, refineries and ships became the biggest thing it does. The borrowing is the price of that shift.

SPX FLOW platform
The four businesses ITT bought from SPX FLOW in March 2026: dairy and nutrition process systems, sanitary pumps and valves, mixers, metering pumps. Roughly two-fifths of its sales are spare parts and service. Orders rose across its three named lines last quarter; most of the promised cost savings land in 2027.
Competes with Hygienic pumps, valves and separators (Alfa Laval) · Dairy and food process systems (GEA Group) · Engineered agitators (EKATO Holding)
In plain English
Every carton of milk, tub of yoghurt or scoop of protein powder passes through machinery that heats the liquid, spins water out of it, squeezes the lumps down to nothing and pumps it along without letting a speck of dirt in. SPX FLOW built that machinery, and ITT now owns it.
A dairy, a nutrition maker or a drug plant buys a line once and then keeps buying for decades: the seals, valves and impellers wear out, and equipment certified clean enough for food cannot simply be patched with whatever is in the shed. Close to half of this business's sales are those parts and the service around them.

ITT Friction Technologies
Brake pads and brake linings for cars, trucks, trains and off-road machines, sold to brake-system makers, carmakers and repair shops. Sales grew three points faster than vehicle production last quarter. Two related buyers, Aumovio and Continental, take about 6% of all ITT revenue.
Competes with Brake pads (Brembo) · OE brake friction (Akebono) · Textar and Mintex pads (TMD Friction)
In plain English
Press the pedal and something has to grab the spinning disc and turn speed into heat. That something is a pad — a steel plate carrying a block of moulded material — and the recipe for the material is the hard part.
Each recipe has to be tested and signed off for a specific vehicle model, which takes years, so once ITT is on a model it ships pads for as long as that model is built. Then the pads wear out, owners replace them, and that replacement trade plus a high-performance line is where the growth has been coming from.

KONI, Axtone and Novitek
Shock absorbers, dampers and impact absorbers for trains, buses, trucks, military ground vehicles and performance cars. Orders grew 9% last quarter on Chinese rail and defense work; the defense damper line's orders neared $15M after growing over 70% in 2025 — quick growth on a small base.
Competes with Rail dampers (Dellner) · Rail damping systems (Voith) · Performance dampers (Bilstein)
In plain English
A train carriage that shuddered at every rail joint would empty of passengers; a lorry that bounced would shed its load. Dampers are the fat cylinders that swallow that motion, pushing oil through a small hole and turning a jolt into warmth.
Rail builders, bus and truck fleets buy them fitted to the vehicle and then again as spares, because a damper is a wear part. Defense is the newer customer, ordering absorbers for ground vehicles, while performance cars are the small end of it.

Goulds Pumps and PRO Services
Process pumps for refineries, chemical plants and mines, plus the branded crews who maintain them. Big engineered packages grew 45% last quarter while off-the-shelf pumps grew 10%. ITT's whole order book — work sold but not yet delivered — was $1.9B entering 2026, and Middle East project orders are being deferred.
Competes with Process pumps and aftermarket service (Flowserve) · Engineered pumps and retrofits (Sulzer) · Industrial pumps (KSB)
In plain English
The least glamorous machine in any factory, and the one nobody can do without: a spinning wheel inside a shaped iron case, throwing liquid along a pipe. A refinery has hundreds of them.
Two sorts of sale sit here. A plant being built orders a whole engineered set, quoted and assembled over months or years. A plant already running orders a standard pump, or pays ITT's crews to rebuild the ones it has. Pump designs get written into a plant's drawings, so whoever's iron is already installed tends to keep the repair work — which is the steadier money.

ITT Cannon
Connectors and cable assemblies built to survive heat, shaking and grime, for aircraft, defense, rail, medical and factory machines. Industrial connector sales rose 24% last quarter on Europe and Asia, with record orders up 38% — faster than this kind of part is selling generally.
Competes with Harsh-environment connectors (Amphenol) · MIL-spec circular connectors (TE Connectivity) · Circular and rectangular connectors (Molex)
In plain English
A connector is the plug-and-socket where two runs of wiring meet. In an office nobody gives it a thought; bolted to a jet, a train or a tool that goes down an oil well, it has to hold its grip through heat, vibration and dirt for years.
Before a buyer can use one it has to be tested and approved for that specific machine, which is slow and locks the choice in. So the design win is the real sale, and the same part keeps shipping for as long as the machine is being built. ITT bought its own contact supplier this July to keep the parts coming.

kSARIA
Rugged fiber-optic and copper cable bundles, plus the crews who install them, for military and commercial aircraft, ships, tactical kit and bases. Defense is about 80% of it. Orders jumped 168% last quarter on multi-year bookings and revenue 28% — big percentages on a small base.
Competes with Aerospace interconnect and fiber assemblies (Amphenol Aerospace) · Ruggedised mil-aero assemblies (Glenair) · Harsh-environment cable assemblies (TE Connectivity)
In plain English
Wiring a fighter jet means cable cut to exact lengths, fitted with plugs at both ends and tied into bundles — bundles that must not fail when the aircraft is shaken and knocked about. kSARIA, bought in 2024, builds those bundles and also goes out and installs them on ships and at bases.
The money comes out of defense budgets. A programme — a fighter jet, a night-vision fit-out — books years of deliveries in one go, which is why the pile of work already won here has grown far faster than the sales figure has.

Svanehøj
Danish maker of pumps that move deep-frozen liquid gas, and the fuel systems around them, for gas carriers and ships that burn gas instead of oil. Bought in 2024; management expects roughly a third of growth a year through 2026 and calls it the template for its deals.
Competes with Cryogenic submerged and send-out pumps (Nikkiso) · Cryogenic pumps (Cryostar) · Cargo handling and fuel-gas systems (Wärtsilä Gas Solutions)
In plain English
Natural gas travels by sea as a liquid, chilled until it stops behaving like a gas — and something has to draw that liquid out of the tank while it is still that cold. Svanehøj, a Danish firm ITT bought in 2024, makes the long pumps that stand down inside those tanks, plus the plumbing that feeds the liquid to a ship's engines.
Yards and shipowners order them along with the ship, so sales follow orders for gas carriers and for vessels choosing gas as fuel. International rules on shipping emissions push owners that way: liquid natural gas today, ammonia the one management points to next.
