Runs Ctrip and Qunar for mainland China, global booking platform Trip.com, and travel metasearch service Skyscanner. Revenue comes from booking commissions, transaction fees and travel services; China operations depend on regulated licenses and variable-interest-entity arrangements.
Runs four principal consumer brands: Ctrip and Qunar serve mainland China, Trip.com addresses global travelers, and Skyscanner provides global travel metasearch. The portfolio connects users with accommodation providers, airlines and other travel suppliers.
Earns commissions and transaction fees from accommodation reservations and transportation tickets, alongside packaged tours, corporate travel, ancillary services and advertising. Mobile booking, supplier connectivity and localized expansion across Asia-Pacific and other markets shape execution.
Operates much of its China business through subsidiaries and contractual arrangements with variable-interest entities. Travel-agency, telecommunications, insurance-agency and internet-service licensing remain operating dependencies, while a PRC antitrust investigation opened in 2026 remains unresolved. Demand and suppliers' ability to fulfill or refund bookings also depend on epidemics and other disruptions.
