Deutsche Bank is a Frankfurt-based bulge-bracket bank and Germany's largest lender; Deutsche Bank Research publishes company, macroeconomic and thematic research and was named Euromoney's world's best for research in 2026.
Company history
Deutsche Bank was founded in Berlin in 1870 to finance foreign trade and later moved its head office to Frankfurt. It expanded into investment banking by acquiring London's Morgan Grenfell in 1990 and Bankers Trust, owner of the Alex. Brown brokerage, in 1999, and listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2001. In July 2019 it announced an exit from equities sales and trading while keeping an equity and macro research capacity.

In 2026 Euromoney named it the world's, Europe's and Germany's best for research.
