Seaport Global Securities is a privately held New York broker-dealer and investment bank centred on credit sales, trading and research; its equity research is published by Seaport Research Partners, a platform launched in 2021.
Company history
The Seaport Group was founded in New York in 2001 as a distressed-debt broker by Michael Meagher and Stephen C. Smith, and began building a London-based European credit business in 2010. Effective January 2014 its owners and those of New Orleans–based investment bank Global Hunter Securities formed Seaport Global Holdings, and the two broker-dealers were combined as Seaport Global Securities during 2014. It launched Seaport Research Partners in 2021 and merged with emerging-markets bond broker Liquidity Finance in 2022.

Seaport Research Partners operates as a division of Seaport Global Securities and as an affiliated investment adviser, with offices including Chicago, New York, Houston, Costa Mesa, London and Hong Kong.
