Commercial and retail banking are provided through Catalyst Bank, the wholly owned operating subsidiary of Catalyst Bancorp. The bank serves south-central Louisiana’s Acadiana region and has expanded its Southwest Louisiana footprint through the Lakeside acquisition.
Customer deposits supply funding for lending and investment securities, making the relationship between deposits and locally deployed credit central to the business. The company frames the franchise around local relationships and local decision-making.
The public holding company emerged from a mutual-to-stock conversion of the long-running St. Landry Homestead institution, and Catalyst Bank became the operating name after a rebrand. Competition for deposits and loans spans banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders, funds, brokerages, insurers and other non-depository institutions, including providers with greater financial resources.
