Company history

Uri Cohen, Chris Pento and Sachin Kumar founded Clear Street in New York in 2018 to build a cloud-native clearing, custody and prime-brokerage platform. It launched investment banking in June 2023 and hired former Cboe chief executive Ed Tilly, who became CEO. Clear Street filed for a Nasdaq IPO in January 2026 but withdrew it in February amid market volatility. Tilly retired in June 2026 and Cohen, the executive chairman, became CEO.

Research

Director of Research Mara Goldstein, formerly a biotechnology analyst at Mizuho, launched coverage in November 2024 with bitcoin miners and energy-transition stocks, adding biotechnology in December 2024, BDC and CLO closed-end funds in July 2025 and fintech in September 2025; private-company research followed in August 2026. Coverage concentrates on companies of roughly $100 million to $5 billion in market value. Its published ratings include Buy and Hold.
