Guggenheim Securities is the New York-based investment banking and capital markets division of privately held Guggenheim Partners. Its equity research covers about 380 companies as of 2026 across consumer, healthcare, internet and media, power and energy transition, and technology teams.
Company history
Guggenheim Partners was founded in 1999 in partnership with the Guggenheim family, whose business dates to the late 1800s. Its broker-dealer, formerly Links Securities and Guggenheim Capital Markets, focused on fixed income sales and trading until former Bear Stearns CEO Alan Schwartz joined as executive chairman in 2009 to build a full-service investment bank. In 2018 it agreed to acquire restructuring adviser Millstein & Co., whose founder Jim Millstein became co-chairman. It has more than 1,100 professionals as of 2026.
