SunTrust Robinson Humphrey
SunTrust Robinson Humphrey (STRH) was the Atlanta-based corporate and investment banking arm of SunTrust Banks, providing equity research, sales and trading, and capital markets services. It was folded into Truist Securities in 2020 after SunTrust's merger with BB&T.
Company history
Roby Robinson founded a municipal bond house in Atlanta in 1894; he and William G. Humphrey incorporated The Robinson-Humphrey Co. in 1902. American Express bought the firm in 1982, operating it within Shearson, and it passed to Smith Barney in 1993. SunTrust acquired its institutional business from Citigroup's Salomon Smith Barney in 2001, creating SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. After SunTrust merged with BB&T in December 2019, STRH combined with BB&T Capital Markets in 2020 as Truist Securities.
