Truist Securities is the corporate and investment banking arm of Truist Financial, headquartered in Atlanta. Its equity research, built on the SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and BB&T Capital Markets platforms, emphasizes fundamental and data-driven coverage of small- and mid-cap companies.
Company history
The firm traces its lineage to Robinson-Humphrey, an Atlanta municipal bond house founded by Roby Robinson in 1894. SunTrust Banks bought Robinson-Humphrey's institutional business from Citigroup in 2001, creating SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. After BB&T and SunTrust merged into Truist Financial in December 2019, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and BB&T Capital Markets combined in August 2020 as Truist Securities, which operates as Truist's full-service corporate and investment bank.
