UBS is a Swiss global bank and wealth manager headquartered in Zurich; its Investment Bank's Global Research unit covered over 3,800 stocks in 52 markets as of 2025 and is known for data products such as UBS Evidence Lab and HOLT.
Company history
UBS dates its founding to the Bank in Winterthur, established in 1862, which merged with Toggenburger Bank in 1912 to form Union Bank of Switzerland. Swiss Bank Corporation, which had bought S.G. Warburg in 1995, merged with Union Bank of Switzerland in 1998 to form UBS, which acquired PaineWebber in 2000. In June 2023 UBS completed the government-brokered takeover of Credit Suisse, keeping its HOLT valuation platform; it aims to substantially complete the integration by end-2026.
