Company history

StoneX Group traces its origins to Saul Stone and Company, founded in Chicago in 1924, and took shape through the 2009 merger of International Assets Holding Corporation and FCStone; the company was renamed INTL FCStone in 2011 and StoneX Group in 2020. In August 2025 it acquired The Benchmark Company, a New York research, trading and investment banking firm founded in 1988, initially keeping the Benchmark brand. In September 2026 Benchmark's business began moving to affiliate StoneX Financial Inc.
